Holidays Are Over!

Ahhhhhh the holidays are finally over. Don't get me wrong, I love the Christmas season. Not as much as my wife, but I enjoy it all. It was good this year also because my kids were here and they all seemed to enjoy it. But there are things about the holidays that really make me glad it is only once a year.
First I guess is, all the food. I know that I don't have to eat the food that is there but it is so good and the feasts aren't like this all the time. So after Thanksgiving and Christmas and The New Year, I have put on more weight than I wanted. Now I have to find a way to motivate myself to get up at the ass-crack of dawn to exercise. We have a treadmill and an exercise bike but getting up early to do that isn't the same as going outside to walk or run. So Now I have to get in the habit of getting up early to lose this damn weight.
Next is the traffic (daily driving) and the crowds. We usually, and have for the past couple of years, try and get the shopping done before the rush hits. Driving in holiday traffic is by far the worst. People seem to lose the niceness and courtesy for the fellow driver. "Nevermind the turn signal I have had on for the past 2 miles trying to get over!" Or the people who continue to go thru the light after it has turned red and then block the intersection for traffic trying to get out the other way. Yeah and try getting into the stores during the season. You either get lucky and find a decent parking spot or you end up parking at the end of the lot and have to walk a quarter mile to the store entrance. And then there are the ones that follow you down the parking lot as you are walking to your car. Occassionally asking if you are leaving so they can get your spot. Again, I have put on weight this season, but most of the ones following you are the overweight ones that apparently can't walk much past their car. LAZY!!!!!!!!!
Nevermind the handicapped spots because those don't exist. Those are the ones that need to have their cars towed.
So now that the holiday season is gone for this year, I can get back on track and lose some weight. At least put forth a good effort.......................
