Weight Loss

Ok, I have realized that most of the time when people have a "New Years Resolution", it typically something that is going to fail. I am sure there are some out there that stick with their resolutions and follow thru and accomplish their goals. Unfortunately, for the rest of us, it's more of a valliant effort for a couple of weeks or so and then it's forogtten.
So with that being said, I didn't have a New Years blah blah blah. I have decided that I am going to lose weight. In my previous post I talked about the weight I gained over the holidays and such and I am going to get rid of it. So I started on 1-9-05 running/walking on the treadmill. I have been getting up at 5am and doing a mile, well at least for the last 2 days. I forgot from my last attempt at running, how much it wakes me up for the day when I get up and exercise in the morning. I will admit it takes A LOT of determination to get up that early. As I am a night owl and hate to go to bed before midnight, it is quite hard to make myself get up with the alarm and not hit the snooze.
Monday (I am gonna say "did a mile" because it's a combo of running and walking), I did a mile in a little over 18 minutes. My goal is to get over a mile, but also to get that first on in under 10 minutes. This morning I did the mile in 15:35. I am not gonna kill myself right away but I will work up to doing several miles, I hope. I remember a day when Icould do a mile in about 6 minutes. I may not be able to get down that low, but I will definately get it in under 10.
I am hoping that i will be able to stick with this and lose quite a bit of the weight I gained. And maybe a few more. This was not a New Years Resolution so I don't have the jinx of that over me. Wish me luck....................
