The End of 2008
To finish out the year of 2008.........
Due to a lack of work within the company, mainly because of the automotive industries downfall, December 19 would be the last work day for the year. I was having trouble as it was, getting the court system to drop my child support. Even thought the amount of money I was losing would have covered my house payment, an attorney told me it wasn't enough to justify changing. While fighting that battle, I welcomed the time off as we had no vacation time coming to get away.
Monday, December 15, 2008 was a day to remember. As our luck was running south already, it just got "better". I was home with the baby as she was not feeling well and did not go to day care. My wife had left for work as she didn't have the vacation time to stay home. She called me about 10 minutes or so after she left and I thought it was maybe to remind me about the baby's medicine. Not likely. A FUCKING dear ran out n front of her on the highway and she hit it full force. Our SUV was FUCKING totaled. My wife was alright, a little shook up, but OK. Our insurance rep talked us into just liability on the truck back at the beginning of the summer so none of the damage was covered. WE GOT FUCKED!!!
Sorry about the language...........thinking about this pisses me off.
Lost pay and now no vehicle to drive. We had to borrow my dad's Hooptie. The Monday following Christmas, I got a call from work. Another layoff and, YES, I was one of them. The year could not have ended any better. Now I have no vehicle, no job, and child support is still not dropped. I made all the neccessary calls to cover unemployment and legal aid so now, in the first few weeks of 2009, I am looking for work. I can only hope this year is better than the end of last.
