Almost Christmas
Hello all.
Well it is that time of year again. Yes the Christmas season is upon us and alas it is almost over. This has been a particularly scarce gift giving season for us. With the addition of the new baby and my wife being off of work for 3 months, the bills are just getting back to normal. There are a few we are still sruggling with trying to get completely caught up, but for the most part we are getting it done. We are scaping to get the few gifts that we feel we NEED to get for a select bunch of people. My children, unfortunately, got cash this year as they can never tell me what they want in enough time for me to try and take care of that. The cash they received was not much at all.
What makes matters worse, I cannot come up with any extra to get my wife anything. I feel like a complete SHIT! I may have to take my change and cash it in with the hopes I will have enough to get her SOMETHING. May not be much but I have to get something. I am fine with not getting anything. I get more satisfaction knowing my family got something from me to open on the magic day. I will pray that things go well and I can manage something for her.
I found out that I need knee surgery after the beginning of the year. I tore my ACL playing basketball back in mid October this year (2007). I did NOT want to hear that as I was really hoping for something that could be remedeed (?)with therepy or maybe some exercise. I am having an MRI done withing the first 2 weeks of January and surgery to follow just after that. I hope the recovery is not a long process as I cannot afford to miss a lot of work. I have a sit down desk job, so maybe I can go back rather quickly. See how that goes.
I have decided that in the coming year, even with the surgery, I am going to try and start a Christmas savings fund without the wife knowing. I really hate having to scrape at the last minute to make sure everyone has something. I hate even more the thought of not getting my wife anything at all. Very upsetting, very upsetting.
